IN-BETWEEN is an installation of screen prints and suspended forms exploring the territory between art and design. Conceived as part of an ongoing design research project, the work investigates how the simplest graphic gesture can shape perception and transform space.

Each work reduces drawing to its essential elements. Rather than describing an object, the image is generated through the meeting of two planes, where a line emerges without ever being directly drawn. These restrained compositions explore the relationship between presence and absence, suggesting form through what is left unprinted as much as what is printed.

The installation extends these ideas beyond the print. Suspended geometric panels translate their language into three dimensions, allowing visitors to move between image, object and architecture. Shifting light and changing viewpoints become part of the work, making perception an active rather than passive experience.

Positioned between conceptual art, printmaking and design, IN-BETWEEN marks an early exploration of ideas that continue to inform Studio Chen Lu's practice: reduction, spatial composition and the framing of emptiness as possibility.
